A new method of making computer-generated hologram (CGH) by electron-beam direct writing was reported. Compared with conventional CGH fabricating method, the new method can improve the image quality of CGH obviously. The comparative experimental results of the two methods were given, and the effects of quantizing and coding errors on the signal-to-noise ratio of CGH were analyzed theoretically.
